The funeral service for Walter William Boyer of Albert Lea, MN will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. Father Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before service at the church. Interment will be in the St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.
Walter died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea. He was 89 years old.
Walter was born in New Richland, MN on December18, 1923, the son of John and Helen (Sanftner) Boyer. He graduated from Alden High School in 1941. He has been a Freeborn County resident all his life. Walter was married to Rose Wach on August 28, 1945 at St. Casmirs Catholic Church in Wells, MN. Walter was a truck mechanic at Wilson & Co for 37 ½ years. He was also a self employed carpenter.
Walter was a member of the Eagles Club. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, softball and golf. His greatest times were spent at the cabin at the lake.
Walter is survived by his wife of 67 ½ years Rose of Albert Lea, MN, children: David (Maria) Boyer of Woodbury, MN, Susan (Larry) Hensche of Albert Lea, MN, Sharon (Mark) Moran of Brooklyn Park, MN, Larry (Nancy) Boyer of Bringham City, Utah, Alan (Deborah) Boyer of Maple Grove, MN, Linda Stenseth of Glenville, MN; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several step grand and great grandchildren; sister: Margie Bice of Mankato, MN; brother: Lyle (Jeannie) Boyer of Albert Lea, MN; several nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, daughter in infancy, father and mother-in-law; 6 brothers ; 3 sisters; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law.
