Funeral Services for Violet E. Spain, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 P.M on Thursday, October
22, 2015, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, in Albert Lea. The Reverend James Kassera will officiate.
Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Violet died on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Albert Lea. She was 90.
She was born on April 9, 1925 in Canada, the daughter of the Rev. Emil and Petra ( Strom )
Moller. As a young girl her family moved to Minnesota and Violet attended country school in Hartland, MN and later Albert Lea Schools. She married Pierce Spain on October 17, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Violet had worked for Birdseye Foods in Waseca, Minnesota for more than 20 years before retiring.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Vi and Pierce had enjoyed traveling, in early years with his work for a carnival and in later years to see the countryside. Violet's pride and joy was her family, she loved all of them with all her heart.
Violet is survived by her children: Fred Spain of Albert Lea, Debra Leidal of Albert Lea, Susan
(Steven) Beighley of Albert Lea, Daniel Spain of Albert Lea; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Garry) Laugerude and children Faith and Ami of Albert Lea, Joshua (Angel) Spain and children Eric and Lyndee of Austin, MN, Stephanie Beighley (Kaleb Ruehling) and children Novah and Kaiden of Albert Lea; two
Step grandchildren: Dalynn (Victor) Wildman and children Jameson, Bayleigh and Henley of Albert Lea, and Sam Beighley of Austin, MN; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pierce in 2000; two brothers: Fritz and Rueben Moller and two sisters: Charlotte Olson and Mildred Ferguson.
