Todd Schumaker

Funeral services for Todd James Schumaker of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Grace Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. The Reverend Shane Koepke will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery, Ellendale, MN. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea area Veterans Group. Todd died peacefully Monday morning, January 15, 2018 at Mayo Health Systems Albert Lea, MN. He was 48 years of age. Todd was born March 9, 1969 in Wells, MN, the son of Melvin and Phyllis (Akemann) Schumaker. He graduated from Glenville High School and served his country in the US Army. On November 15, 1997 he was united in marriage to Nikki Toft at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Todd had been a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, the Glenville American Legion and a Freeborn County resident most of his life. He had been employed by the Minnesota Corrugated Box Company as a Supervisor for over 28 years. In his free time he enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles, lawn and home improvement and anything related to military history. The best times were spent with his family and attending his sons sporting events. Todd is survived by his wife Nikki of Albert Lea, MN, sons Brody and Logan of Albert Lea, MN, brothers Scott (Brenda) Schumaker of Wisconsin, Dan (Julie) Schumaker of Glenville, MN, Mark (Stacia) Schumaker of Glenville, MN, and Jason (Sarah) Schumaker of Glenville, MN. Brothers in law include Mark (Ellen) Johnson of New Richland, MN, Gregg (Jennee) Ewing of Eagan, MN, Chad (Megan) Toft of Forest Lake, MN. Also surviving is father and mother  Melvin and Phyliss Schumaker, father and mother in law Kevin (Christine) Johnson of New Richland, MN, father in law Kent (Kim) Toft of Blaine, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.
