Thomas O'Byrne

A memorial service will be held for Thomas O'Byrne at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, in Albert Lea. Father Timothy Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea location, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
Thomas died on Monday, March 24, 2014, at his home. He was 65 years old.
Thomas was born on March 30, 1948 to William and Ann (Harty) O'Byrne, in Albert Lea. Thomas graduated from Albert Lea High School, and later graduated with a bachelor's degree from Mankato State University.
Tom was united in marriage to Janet (Jones) on October 3, 1970. To this union, two children were born. Tom worked various jobs including: Streators, Lou Rich, Farmstead, and worked for Truth Hardware in Owatonna for the last 15 years. He was set to retire this week.
He was a member of the Elks and Eagles club in Albert Lea for a number of years. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed to read, stargaze, and going on camping trips and motorcycle rides with his family (often stopping at every historical marker along the way). He was a hardworking man who loved his family. He was always there to help whenever necessary. Overall, he was a good-hearted person.
Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Janet; parents; brother, Bob; sister, Mary; in-laws, Dale and Josephine Jones; and a daughter in-law, Nicole O'Byrne.
Tom leaves behind his two children, Jennifer O'Byrne and Mark O'Byrne; grandchildren, Adam and Isaiah O'Byrne; siblings, Catherine, Bill, Hugh, and Mike; as well as several nieces, nephews and relatives.
