Ted was born on January 13, 1955, in Albert Lea, the son of Robert Jensen and Joretta (Hagen) Jensen. At the age of 10 months, Ted contracted meningitis, which created many challenges for his life to come. Ted attended Glenville Schools for 12 years, and then went to Mankato for additional training. He returned to Albert Lea and began his career with Cedar Valley Services. Throughout his time at Cedar Valley, Ted worked in many areas including time at Bridon Cordage and Lou Rich. He was a very dedicated, loyal, hardworking, proud and respected employee, receiving several Recognition Awards for his diligent service during his years there. Health issues caused his retirement from Cedar Valley in August of 2013, after 35 years of service. Ted died at home in the presence of his loving sister and brother-in-law on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the age of 59. Ted was a big movie buff, always enjoying watching and collecting a good film. He also enjoyed his
involvement with Crest Services SILS program and all the activities, especially men's night out and bowling. Spending time with his nieces and nephew and their families always brought treasured memories.
Ted will be lovingly missed by his sister: Susan(Ken) Cafourek of Albert Lea; nieces and nephews: Stephanie (Bob) Hackney and their children Ellie and Jack of Oakdale, MN, Melissa Cafourek and her children Palmer and Henry, and Ryan (Stacy) Cafourek and their children Milo and Luka of Albert Lea; his father Robert Jensen and his wife Lois of California, half sister Annette (Jason) Yelk of Vermont; uncles: Jim Jensen of California, Ron Carpenter of Texas and Roger Christenson; aunt Marlene Jensen of Glenville, MN, and many, many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joretta Jensen, his maternal grandparents Chris and Lillian Hagen, his paternal grandparents Palmer and Florence Jensen, uncles and aunts: Richard Jensen, Sharon Carpenter, Arliss and Alton Davis, and Phyllis Christenson. Life brought Ted many, many challenges, especially physically, but he always accepted them with grace, dignity, perseverance, a nod, and a smile. We will miss the light Ted brought to our lives !
