Sylvia Thrond

Funeral services for Sylvia Elsie Thrond of Byron, MN, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 8, 2018 at the West Freeborn Lutheran Church rural Hartland, MN. Pastor Steven Schwartz will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 PM Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the West Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery. Sylvia died Monday, January 1, 2018 at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN, surrounded by her loving family. She was 75 years of age. Sylvia was born July 17, 1942 in rural Manchester, MN, the daughter of Kenneth and Elsie (Thofson) Enderson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1960, and on December 8, 1962 was united in marriage to LuVern Thrond at the Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Sylvia worked as a service representative at the Security State Bank in Ladysmith, WI, and as a telephone operator both in Minneapolis and Albert Lea. Sylvia was baptized and confirmed at the West Freeborn Lutheran Church and had been an active member of the Mount Mariah Lutheran Church in Byron before transferring her membership back to West Freeborn on her 55th wedding anniversary. She enjoyed decorating the family home and pampering her many pets, but the love of her life was the time spent with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband LuVern Thrond of Byron, MN, daughter Laurel (Gary) Anderson of Calgary Alberta Canada and their two children Trevor and Brittney Anderson. Two brothers survive; Larry (Babe) Enderson of Albert Lea, MN, Eugene (Donna) Enderson of Robbins, IA, and nephews David and Daniel Enderson. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and niece Delores Radcliff.
