Sylvia (Francis) Taylor

Funeral services for Sylvia Georgia (Olson) (Francis) Taylor of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN. Pastor David Emmons will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea. Sylvia went to her home on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Koda Community Living in Owatonna, MN, where she had been living for the past eight years. She was 98 years of age. Sylvia was born February 23, 1920 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Severt and Clara (Iverson) Olson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1939. On August 8, 1941 she was united in marriage to Walter Leo Francis and to this union three children were born, Sharon Leah, Yvonne Kay and Walter Leo Jr. Sylvia was a great cook and loved doing her part in making quilts at Our Saviors Lutheran Church where she had been a lifelong member. Sylvia had been employed at the Big Insurance Agency for many years. On August 31, 1974 she was united in marriage to Verle N. Taylor in Albert Lea, MN. She is survived by her children Sharon Kuns of Owatonna, MN, Yvonne (Keith) Goodmanson of Livonia, MI, Wally (Stephanie) Francis of Apple Valley, MN, 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, stepchildren; Patricia (Lou) Felix of Arizona, Julie McEwan of Indiana and Scotty (Gary) Spohr of Indiana. Also surviving is one sister; Beatrice (Tootie) Lee of Albert Lea, MN and sister in law Shirley Olson of Mason City, IA. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Walter and Verle, brothers Thelmer (Tally) Olson, Sanford Olson, Orville Olson, and sisters Ruth Haried and Sybil Olson.
