Suzanne Newman

Funeral services for Suzanne Marie Newman of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, October 20, 2017 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Reverend David Emmons will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea.

Mrs. Newman died Saturday, October 14, 2017 at St Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, MN. She was 71 years of age.

Suzanne was born December 10, 1945 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Maynard and Annabel (Christensen) Jacobson. She graduated High School in Albert Lea, MN. On October 19, 1963 she was united in marriage to Daryl Newman in Albert Lea.

Suzanne was a Freeborn County resident all of her life and a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church where she had been active in Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school. She worked for over 19 years for Wal-Mart in Albert Lea and had been a member of the Eagle’s Club, (Past President).

In her free time she especially loved time with her grandchildren and shopping. She also enjoyed flowers and watching the birds.

Suzanne is survived by her husband Daryl of Albert Lea, MN, children Karen and husband Russ Adkins of Northwood, Iowa, Pam and husband Dave Elliott of Northwood, Iowa, Michael and wife Jolene Newman of Albert Lea, MN, Daron and wife Jody Newman of Janesville, MN. There are 15 grandchildren; Heather, Alex, Nathan, Amanda, Connar, Tyler, Taylor, Trinity, Daniel, Elizabeth, Mackenzie, Brendon, Krystle, Kelsie and Kiara, great grandchildren Booker, Dylan, Harper and Brody, two sisters Rebecca (Alan) Baer of Madison Lake, MN, Paula Jensen of albert Lea, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Aaron, brother in law David Newman and mother and father in law Walter and Thelma Newman.
