The funeral service for Stanley Obell Wayne of Albert Lea, Minnesota will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, Albert Lea. The Reverend Richard Spande will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Military Honors will be accorded. Stanley died Friday October 31, 2008 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 85 years old. Stanley was born November 16, 1922 in Albert Lea to Obell and Evelyn E. (Berglund) Wayne. He graduated from Albert Lea High School and continued his education at the University of Minnesota.. He served in the 328th Infantry Regiment the Yankee Division. of the United States Army. The Theater of operation was in Germany, France and Austria. His unit was in the Battle of the Bulge and helped liberate Mulhausen 20 kilo north of Linz Austria. After he returned from the service, he married Doris Lysne (deceased) and four children were born to that union. Stanley worked for Bert Gordon at Gordon Electric, was a salesman for Drug Supply and Red Owl Groceries. He worked as a sales manager for the Arabian Times Horse magazine, was a Real Estate Broker and served as a former President of the Multiple Listing Service. Stanley owned Mother Natures Cupboard (health food store). He married Marianne Henricks at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa and one daughter was born to this union. Stan and Marianne raised Arabian horses for many years. Stanley was a past member of the First Baptist Church, Clarks Grove and a member of the First Baptist Church, Albert Lea. Stanley was a member of the Masonic Lodge and former member of the Elks.. Stan enjoyed being with his wife and daughter, family and friends. His best friend this past few years was Dr. Sam Seltzer who like Stan was a history buff. He enjoyed traveling, horses and his dogs Anna and Samantha. Stanley is survived by his wife Marianne Wayne of Albert Lea; children: Christine Wayne, step children: Regina (Trevor) Reese and Domineque (Tito) Antonio, children: Richard Wayne and his life long friend Barb, Charles (Kara) Wayne, Julie (Tom) Carpenter and Jon Wayne; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Margaret (Bob) Johnson, Barb Ruble and Helen (Dr. Howard) Sauer, and many nieces and nephews. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents: Obell and Evelyn Wayne; his first wife Doris Wayne (Lysne), sister: Pauline and her husband Stan Malepsy; Richard Ruble the husband of his sister Barb Ruble. Stanley will be greatly missed by all.
