Shirley Ann Hegwood of Albert Lea, MN, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Regions Medical Center in St Paul. Friends may greet the family Thursday evening from 4 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea.
Shirley was born February 14, 1931 in St Cloud, MN, the daughter of Lyle and Lucille (Atman) Baker. She was a graduate of Park Rapids High School and on January 30, 1951 was united in marriage to Lowell (Skinner) Hegwood.
Shirley had made her home in Albert Lea since 1969 and had worked for the Wilson Company and Farmstead. She was also part owner and operator of the Nasty Habit Bar in Albert Lea.
Shirley was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, loved music and was an exceptional organist.
She is survived by her children Debbie Bladine of Brooklyn Park, MN, Greg Hegwood of Plymouth, MN, Brad and his wife Cindy Hegwood of Albert Lea, MN, Scott and his wife Lori Hegwood of Eau Claire, WI.
Grandchildren include Nicole Bladine, Tyler Hegwood and fiancée Jenna Vogelsang, Evan Hegwood, Cassie Hegwood, Corrie Hegwood and Colton Hegwood. One brother Tom Baker of Rice, MN, and one sister Cathy Engstrom and fiancée Bill Evans of Maple Grove, MN. She is also survived by her beloved dog Diva.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and Husband Lowell (Skinner).
