Sheila Walk

The funeral service for Sheila K. Walk will be at 11 AM Friday, August 30 at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation from 4-7 Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, as well as one hour prior to the service.

Sheila Walk passed away on Monday August 26, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. She was 72 years old.
Sheila was born on July 13 1941 to Harry and Cecilia (Ostrander) Miller in Utica, New York. As an infant, the family moved to California where she attended school. On March 16, 1966 she married Ronald Lee Walk in Long Beach, California. The family settled in Albert Lea in 1987.
Sheila attended First Lutheran church, but for the last 6 years she volunteered and attended services at The Salvation Army. She spent many years working at the Super 8 Motel, and had recently been working as a cook at The Salvation Army.
Volunteering was Sheila's life. She helped with disaster relief and received many awards for her volunteer work. She enjoyed the ocean, lighthouses, sailor bears, reading, and old movies. Her family was very important and she was "Grandma" to everyone she met.
Sheila is survived by her children, Katherine Blake of Albert Lea, Timothy Walk of Albert Lea, Edward Walk of Albert Lea, Ron Walk of Albert Lea, and Tom Walk of Greenfield, IA; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cody, Kendra, Shane, and Derreck; brothers, Harry Miller III of Cambria, CA, Paul Miller of Glendale, AZ, and David Miller of Huntington Beach, CA; nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Cecilia Miller; husband Ronald Walk Sr; daughter, Daphne Walk; grandson Tyler Blake; and son in law, Mark Blake.
The family would like to thank everyone in the community for their love and support.
