Sharon Haugan

Sharon was born on December 28th, 1941 to Norris and Wanita Tukua in Waseca, MN.

She dedicated over 40 years of her life working at Mayo Medical Center in Nursing Education in Rochester, MN.  Earlier in her career, she also worked at IBM and for the Rochester School District.

Sharon had a zest for life and enjoyed spending time with those she loved.  She adored her role as a Mother and Grandma most.  Throughout her life, she had a love for adventure.  She loved traveling, football, horse racing, Nascar, art, and her strong Norwegian heritage.  But, most of all she had a dedicated love for her faith, family, and friends.  Her life was full of joy, gratitude, and grace.  She always had a smile, thank you, and kind gesture for all who crossed her path.  Sharon will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Brian (Brenda) Lamonica of Isla Mujeres, Mexico; grandchildren, Joshua Lamonica, Jeremy Lamonica, and Dakota (Jacob) Grattan; 1 great-grandchild, Beau Grattan; brother, Steven (Melanie) Tukua; nephews, Chris (Amy) Tukua, Mike Tukua, Scott Tukua, and Danny (Jessica) Tukua. And many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norris and Wanita Tukua; grandparents, Orville and Abbie Haugan and Selmer and Anna Tukua; and one granddaughter, Savannah.

A private family burial will be held on November 22nd, 2022 at St. Olaf Cemetery in New Richland, MN. A celebration of life will be held at a later time to celebrate the beautiful life of Sharon.  The details for her celebration will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials in honor of Sharon be sent to Seasons Hospice House at 5650 Weatherhill Rd. SW, Rochester, MN 55902.
