Remembering the life of Sharolyn V. Hanson Gieseke....
The Funeral Service for Sharolyn V. Hanson Gieseke, of Mankato, formerly of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Reverend Marcia Hall will officiate.
Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Sharolyn died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, September 7. She was 57.
She was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota on June 26, 1950, the daughter of Harry and Marvyl (Johnson) Hanson.
She married Ronald Brandt, to this union four children were born Korena Diane, Shannon, Nichole Lynn and Sheldon. She later married Don Gieseke.
Country music was the heart and soul of Sharolyn?s life. She was a singer, song writer and musician and shared this passion with her family. She will most be remembered from her bands the Honky Tonks, and later the Whiskey Rose Band.
She also was an animal lover, enjoyed a little gambling and was affectionately called the "Bingo Queen"
She will be greatly missed by her family: husband Don of Mankato, mother Marvyl Hanson of Albert Lea, sons: Shannon Brandt and his wife Nita of Mankato, Sheldon Brandt and his wife Amy of St. Peter, grandchildren Terra and Matthew; brothers and sister: Marlowe Hanson and his wife Ann of Mankato, Diane VonHagen and her husband Russ of Clarks Grove, and Doug Hanson and his wife Gail of Albert Lea; also several nieces and nephews.
Sharolyn was preceded in death by her father, two daughters in infancy Korena and Nichole, brother Larry and sister Maryann.
