Sara Louise Cogar, 81, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the Mayo Clinic- St. Mary’s Campus, in Rochester, MN.
Born on April 25, 1941, in Algona, IA, she was daughter of the late Randall and Elfrieda (Paetz) Clark. In 1986, Sara was united in marriage to Claude Cogar, who passed in 2008.
Following her graduation from the Naeve School of Nursing, Sara worked as a registered nurse, Director of Nursing, and case worker for various healthcare facilities across the country, including Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, Nebraska, and Minnesota. She found joy spending time with family, reading, and drinking a good cup of coffee.
Left to cherish Sara’s memory are her two children, Lori Graham and David Quisley (Christine); five grandchildren: Jason (Lindsey), Jared (Amanda), and Carolyn (Dannie) Graham, and Tanna and Julia Quisley; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Jay Graham; sister-in-law Nancy Clark; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Becker (Jerry); a brother, Matthew Clark; and a son-in-law, Jay Graham.
A family service will be held at a later date.
