Remembering the life of Ruth Marie Pedersen…
The Funeral Service for Ruth Marie Pedersen of
Albert Lea
will be held at
10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Hartland Evangelical Lutheran
Church.
Pastor Dennis Schmidt will officiate.
Interment will be in Hartland
Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 on Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service
Albert Lea
, and one hour before the service at the church.
Ruth,
went to her heavenly home on Monday morning January 19, 2009.
She
died at her daughter’s home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 91.
She was born on February 1, 1917, in
Albert Lea
,
Minnesota
the daughter
of Adolph and Ida G. (Moen) Wangsness.
On April 6, 1943, she was united in marriage to Karl Pedersen and
they were blessed with two children Donald and Karol. She was a life-long
area resident.
Faith and family were the focus of Ruth’s life.
She was an active member of
Hartland
Evangelical
Lutheran
Church
where she had taught Sunday School
and was active in the
Rebekah-Ruth Circle
and Ladies Aid. She lived to
care for and nurture her family, in her later years she
especially treasured being surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She enjoyed a good game of cards, crocheting, doing puzzles, and traveling with her husband and later with her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her family, children: Donald J. (Susan B.)

, sister-in-law Mary Pedersen of
Denmark
and
many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband Karl in 1991, sisters: Dorothy Gramcko, Charlotte Loring, Laura Beckel,
Irma Virkus and a brother
Paul Wangsness.
Ruth will be fondly remembered as a charming “little” lady with a heart overflowing with faith and love.
