Ruth died Friday morning, October 21, 2016 at the ThorneCrest Retirement Center in Albert Lea. She was 85 years of age.
Dolly was born January 12, 1931 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Olavus and Valborg (Aflangrud) Aspenson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1949 and on March 17, 1951 she was united in marriage to Paul R. Levisen at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
Dolly was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the church circle. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of the family, cooking, baking and keeping the house "neat as a pin". There were many trips to Diamond Jo, vacations in Texas, her trip to Denmark with her husband Paul, but mostly loved the time spent with family and friends over coffee. Dolly and Paul also enjoyed working at their Malt and Footlong stand at the Freeborn County Fair.
Dolly is survived by her children David Levisen of Owatonna, MN, Mark (Marna) Levisen of Rochester, MN, Jane (David) Anderson of Rochester, MN, grandchildren; Dane Levisen, Danielle Levisen (fiancé Andrew Piepho), Sam Levisen, Sally (Chris) Zibrowski and Brian Anderson. There is one great grandson Nolan and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters-in-law survive, June Aspenson and Betty Aspenson, and two brothers-in-law Arnold Levisen and Mike (Pat) Levisen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, brothers Harold Aspenson and his wife Shirley, Richard Aspenson and his wife Lillian, Robert Aspenson and Gordon Aspenson and sister Dorothy Rosenberg and her husband Milt.
A special thank you to ThorneCrest Staff and Mayo Hospice for their loving care of Dolly.
