Funeral services for Rudolph Anthony Anderson Jr. of Albert Lea, MN will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN. The Reverend Mark Niethammer will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at his home in Albert Lea. He was 81 years of age.
Rudolph was born November 28, 1933 in New Richland, MN, the son of Rudolph O. and Ethel (Anderson) Anderson. He graduated from Ellendale High School in 1951. On December 5, 1953 he was united in marriage to Patricia Mangskau at the Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Rudolph was a resident of Albert Lea most of his life and a member of the Salem Lutheran Church where he had been active as an usher and treasurer and coached the church softball team. He had been employed for 31 years at Wilson's and after retirement owned and operated rental properties in Albert Lea.
Rudolph enjoyed camping, lawn mowing, riding his golf cart and spending time with his dogs, but the true love of his life was spending time with his grandkids and going to all of their sporting events.
He is survived by his children Vicki (Wm. Kent) Reichl of Albert Lea, MN, Bruce (Deanna) Anderson of Savage, MN, David (Jean) Anderson of Albert Lea, MN, Todd (Kathryn) Anderson of Andover, MN, and Timothy (Sally) Anderson of Farmington, MN. Grandchildren include Christopher (Lauren) Reichl, Nicholas Reichl, Jenni Teachout, Cassie (Adam) McMenomy, Sarah Anderson, Laura Anderson, Dustin Anderson, Ross (Alyse) Anderson, Rebecca Anderson, Faith Anderson, Jake (Erica) McClaskey, Chase Anderson, Hailey Anderson, Trayton Anderson and Gavin Anderson. Great grandchildren include Emma Reichl, Nathan, Kamri, and Riley Reichl, Jocelyn and Triston Voigt, Fiana and Devlin McMenomy, Porter, Piper and Penelope Anderson, Aiden and Arielle McClaskey. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law Dorothy Anderson and Betty Anderson and special friend John Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia, brothers Rayfield (Lorraine), Donald, Merlyn, and Edward Anderson, sisters Virginia Anderson and Marjorie Schroeder.
