ROY DOBBERSTEIN

The funeral service for Roy H. Dobberstein will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 16, 2005 at First Lutheran Church, Waldorf, MN. The Reverend Michael Mathews will officiate. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Friedrich Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.



Roy died on Thursday, April 14, 2005 at New Richland Care Center. He was 77 years old.



Roy was born in Waseca County, MN on July 6, 1927, the son of Edward and Emma (Bolduan) Dobberstein. He was baptized August 14, 1927 at St. John Lutheran Church in Vivian Township. He attended district #69 county school in Byron Township. He liked being outdoors and enjoyed raking.



Roy lived with his parents on the family farm. His mother died in 1968 and he continued to live with his father until 1975 when his father became ill. He then lived with his brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Mable Dobberstein in Ellendale until going into New Richland Care Center in 2002.



Roy is survived by two brothers: Arthur (Margaret) Dobberstein of rural New Richland, MN, Elmer (Mable) Dobberstein of Ellendale, MN; sister-in-law, Hilda Dobberstein of New Richland, MN; nieces, nephews and cousins.



He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: George and Reinhardt Dobberstein; and a sister in infancy.
