Funeral Services for Ronald "Ron" Paul Knutson, of rural Emmons, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 3, at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Reverend Joel Erickson and Reverend David Hernes will officiate. Interment will be in the State Line Cemetery , rural Northwood. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church. Ron died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. He was 62.
He was born on October 7, 1950, in Albert Lea, the son of Harold and Elaine (Egland) Knutson. Ron graduated from Glenville High School. He was united in marriage to Denise Monnahan in Gordonsville on July 9, 1971. Ron farmed for many years and then was a commodity broker for Roach Ag Marketing, until his retirement. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
In his younger years he enjoyed racing and going to the speedway. Ron enjoyed truck and tractor pulls, and was especially proud of his yard, where he enjoyed
planting trees. He had a great passion for "getting the best deal" and was a tough negotiator. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Denise, his parents Harold and Elaine Knutson of Glenville; two children: Jeremy "Jake"(Ann Marie) Knutson of Glenville, Jaclyn "Jaci" (Jake) Koeppen of rural Northwood; grandchildren: Carsen and Kendra Knutson of Glenville and Alex and Abby Beaty of rural Northwood; brothers: Robert "Bob" Knutson (Nancy) of Glenville, Larry (Sherri) Knutson of Glenville,
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Michaela Clark of Forest City, IA, Rosy and Howard "Bud" Nelson of Braham, MN, Nancy and Roy Beighley of Gordonsville , MN, Sharon and Ole Rosen of Scarville, IA, Linda and Gordon Peterson of rural Glenville, Randi and Steve Chicos of Austin, MN and several
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Oscar and Clara Egland and Ernie and Tilda Knutson; father-in-law and mother-in-law Lewis and Ellen Monnahan; sister-in-law Geri and her husband Leon Kingsbury and brother-in-law Richard Clark.
