Funeral Services for Roger K. Hall, of Glenville, Minnesota will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday,
May 23, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Reverend Jim Rushton will officiate. Interment will be Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church. Roger was born in Forest City, Iowa on June 16, 1941, the son of Elmer and Alice (Johnson) Hall. He graduated from Glenville High School. Roger married Gloria Thofson on August 20, 1961, and to this union three children were born: Chip, Ranger and Robin. Roger had served in the National Guard for six years. After completing his service to our country, Roger began working in the area hauling milk and then working as an electrician in Hayward. He later began farming, and raised dairy as well, in addition he worked at Farmstead during this time.
Roger shared many years of companionship with Alice Gleason. They spent time together up north at Roger's resort "The Whitefish Family Resort". They shared many happy years together and the resort was always a place for family to gather especially on Memorial Day and Labor Day. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching the Minnesota Twins, and especially looked forward to helping on the farm with fall harvest. "Snap" and "Ginger" his pet friends, were always at his side. After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Roger died peacefully at his home on Sunday morning, May 20, 2012. He was 70.
He is survived by his children: Chip (Dawn) Hall, Ranger (Michelle) Hall, Robin (Tracy) Haines all of Glenville, MN, grandchildren: Erica Hall (Zach), Andrea Hall (Nate), Alayna Hall (Tyler), Joey Haines, Jennaca Haines, Justice Haines, Jesse Haines, Landon Hall and Marshal Hall; great grandchildren: Jared Hall, Faith Hall and Nevaeh Hall; sister Bonnie (Owen) Aassness; , brother Owen Hall and nieces and nephews; He is also survived by his longtime companion Alice's children: Karen Dunn of Mashpee, MA, Richard (Jodi) Gleason of LeRoy, MN, and Rob (Mary) Gleason of Austin, MN; grandchildren: Joe Roche, Chris (Janelle) Dunn, Nicholas Dunn, Michelle (Tim) Dunn, Michael Dunn, Serena Gleason (Philip Gardner), R.J. Gleason, Jassmine Gleason, Alexandria Gleason, Hunter Gleason, Mitchell Gleason; great grandchildren: Henry Dunn, Isaac Price, Lillie Gardner, Payton Gardner, Eastyn Gardner, and Kallijo Gleason. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Alice Hall, his brother Jerry Hall, infant grandson John Haines and long time companion Alice Gleason.
