Memorial services for Robert N. Perreault of Albert Lea, MN will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at St Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. Father Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Theodore Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area Veterans Groups.
Robert died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center. He was 88 years of age.
Robert was born December 18, 1924 in Red Lake Falls, MN, the son of Albert and Elodia (Laundry) Perreault.
He attended public school in Red Lake Falls. Robert served his country in the U S Navy during World War ll and was honorably discharged. After serving in the Navy, he attended Trade School in Chicago, Il.
He married Betty Swanson on May 20, 1950 in Grand Forks, N.D. Together they moved to Albert Lea in 1956 where he worked as an appliance repairman for Gordon Electric and then Sears and Roebuck Company. He also worked on his own for ten years after retiring from Sears.
Robert was a member of St Theodore Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and served Meals on the Go. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, traveling to Texas where he would spend four months at a time and had a special love for square dancing. He was always there to help others.
Robert is survived by his wife Betty of Albert Lea, MN, children Diane and her husband Marvin Nygaard of Grand Rapids, MN, Steven Perreault of San Diego, CA, Dale Perreault of Fridley, MN, Donald and his wife Pamela Perreault of Seattle, WA, Barbara and her husband Wally Bergseth of Burnsville, MN. Grandchildren include James (Tiffany) Van Riper, Thomas Van Riper, Tina (Jeremie) Lutteke, April (Joe) Hyde, Rebecca Nygaard, Zachary Perreault, Arielle Perreault and Nathan Bergseth. There are seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Sister Gabriel Perreault of Stillwater, MN, Cecelia Gingras of North Carolina, and Florence Moen of Baudette, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers George, Walliace and Omer, sisters Stella Derosier, Rose Beaudoin, Mae Lallier, Doris Derosier, Mona Klooz and two siblings in infancy.
