Ricky Amundson

Memorial Services for Ricky "Big Rick" Amundson will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Reverend Richard Spande will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before services. Ricky died at his home surrounded by friends and family, on Wednesday evening, March 7, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 55. He was born on January 29, 1957, in Albert Lea, the son of Walter and Veva (Sayles) Amundson Ricky was baptized at Round Prairie Lutheran Church and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. A graduate of Albert Lea High School, Ricky also completed the diesel mechanic program at Albert Lea Vo-Tech. He had been employed by Schultheis Oil and had been employed by Sanderson Auto for the past 21 years. He was a member of the Eagles Club. Ricky enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, fishing and trips to Alexandria, working on cars, but
mostly spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by wife Judy, children:Bruce(Shelly) Egeness of Burnsville, MN, and their children Wally and Reese, Diana Newman and her children Tyler, Taylor, and Trinity, of Albert Lea, Brian Egeness and his daughter Hailey of Albert Lea; brother Darrel (Pat) Amundson of Albert Lea; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jim (Sue) Johnson of Ellendale, Jean Bolinger of Albert Lea, Jackie (Gary) Shuck of Albert Lea, Jody Johnson and friend Lynae Kelley of Albert Lea and John(Tami)Johnson of Albert Lea; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Veva Amundson and his father-in-law and
mother-in-law Wallace and Florene Johnson.
Ricky will be remembered for his happy-go-lucky
spirit and his ability to always make the best of things!
