Memorial Services for Raymond "Ray" Thompson of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 on Tuesday, July
28, 2015 at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Albert Lea. The Reverend Diane Odermann will officiate.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by Albert Lea Veteran's
Organizations. Ray died on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. He was 79. He was born on September 17, 1935, in Albert Lea, the son of Carl and Mabel (Halverson) Thompson
He attended Albert Lea Schools where he was in the Golden Gloves and he and his brothers Lars and Mike were called the "3 Musketeers". He later attended technical school in Red Wing, Minnesota. Raymond served our country in the U.S. Army and also several years in the Army National Guard. He was a member of First Lutheran Church where he married Sandra Moucha in December of 1972 in the Chapel.
Ray had been a truck driver, cab driver, and had various other jobs. He enjoyed fishing, fixing cars, collecting books, riding motorcycles, bartending and trips to Diamond Jo Casino. Ray is survived by his wife Sandra, children Rodney, Kathy Klingerman, Steve, David and Patty and their families, sisters: Doris Trustem, Shirley Larson, brother, Lawrence Thompson and brother –in-law Larry Moucha and nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Clayton "Mike" and Robert, sisters, Margie,
Helen and Mary.
