Remembering the life of Raymond LeRoy (Ray) Searle??..
The Funeral Service for Raymond L. Searle, of Albert Lea , will be held at
10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Father Robert Schneider will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. ? 7:00 P.M. on Monday with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. There will also be visitation one hour before the service at the church.
Ray died on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at St. John?s Lutheran Home.
He was 89 years old.
He was born on June 11, 1915, to Archie and Stella (Kennedy) Searle in Bancroft, Iowa. He grew up in Winnebago, Minnesota and when he was 18 went into the Civilian Conservation Corps for one year.
He married Marjorie Shea in Winnebago, Minnesota on January 19, 1937.
He worked on defense during WWII and he had also worked construction and on the Alaskan/Canadian Highway in the ?40?s.
Ray owned Ray?s Auto Parts and Ray?s Tractor parts in the 50?s in Albert Lea.
He sponsored stock cars for the races at the Freeborn County fairground.
He later owned a clothing store in Mora, Minnesota.
He loved to go ?antiquing? and to flea markets.
Ray is survived by one daughter Kathryn Mandt of Albert Lea, son-in-law Don
Roberts of Hackensack, MN., four grandchildren: Shelly Barnett and her husband Bruce of Waterloo, IA, Renae Roberts of Albert Lea, Rebecca Shoop and her husband Rich of Burnsville, MN, Rhonda Cibert and her husband Tim of Albert Lea; great grandchildren: Amber and her husband Zac Belote, Bethany and Noah
Barnett, Elle Roberts, Axel and Ralyn Shoop, Christina, Melanie and Jacob Cibert.
He is also survived by 3 great great grandchildren Michaela, Isaih and Eric. He is
also survived by 2 sisters Mildred and Rachael, special sister-in-law and friend
Fern Shea of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law Nada Grant, and Kathryn Allen, brother-in-law Jim Shea, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, former wife and life long friend Marjorie, daughter Karen Roberts and grandchildren Dale Sanders and Lisa Sanders, son-in-law Bud Mandt, two brothers and a sister.
Dad had an Irish wit and loved life and being around people. He was very generous
with his time and money.
We will miss him and all his advice?.Rest in Peace..
