Raymond Keating

Memorial services for Raymond G. Keating of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 17, 2012 at St Theodore Catholic Church. Father Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 until 5 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Theodore Cemetery.

Ray died on Thursday September 13, 2012 at his home surrounded by family.

Raymond Gail Keating was born on May 7, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1954 and St Thomas College in 1958. Ray married Mary Speltz in Albert Lea in 1956 and worked his entire life as a CPA. He partnered with Bertram Cooper and later with Larson Allen.

Ray was a loving husband, caring father of nine, proud grandfather of 21and great grandfather of 3 and a genuine friend to many. He was active in his community and St. Theodore Catholic Church. His deep faith and devotion to both religion and family gave him great resilience and strength.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, children Kathy (Doug) Heilman-Allison and Bryan; Raymond (Angela) Keating-Chandler and Grady; Susan Mason-Christine Mason, Lauren, Sam and Ella; John (Cheryl) Keating-Miranda, Mallory and Mickey; Angela (Stephen Whittington) Keating-Connor, Chloe and Cooper; Jim (Christy) Keating-Jimmy, Ryan, Andrew and Abigail; Patte (David) Hansen-CJ and Veronica; Tom (Heidi) Keating-Wayne and Quincy; Jennifer (Scott) Schiele-Flynn and Brooklyn.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents-Blanche and John Flynn and Bill Keating; brothers Jack and Bill, mother and father-in-law Angela and Stan Speltz, brother-in-law Robert and Arthur; and son-in-law Dick Mason.

Ray loved coffee with friends, a good game of gin and golf along with a nice cigar.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. Theodore Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council, Albert Lea Education Foundation or the Naeve Foundation
