The funeral service for Raymond L. Hendrickson of New Richland, Minnesota will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Le Sueur River Lutheran Church, rural New Richland. The Reverend Cary Larson will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland.



Raymond Hendrickson, 81 died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 after a short stay at the New Richland Care Center .



Raymond was born May 24, 1927 in Waseca County , Minnesota to Nordine and Esther (Bjorklund) Hendrickson. He attended country school near New Richland and New Richland High School . Raymond was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. On April 30, 1953 he married Bernice (Reese) Johnson. They were lifetime residents of the New Richland area. Ray was a member of Le Sueur River Lutheran Church and served on various committees and was an usher. He was a truck driver and also farmed. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auctions and spending time with his family.



Raymond is survived by his children: Curtis W. (Sandra) Hendrickson of New Richland, MN, Keith A. (Laurie) Hendrickson of New Richland, MN, and Dawn L. Hendrickson (Jeff) Thompson of Byron, MN; step children: Gloriann Johnson Rudolph of Folsom, CA and Noreen Johnson (Gene) Lewis of Haleyville, AL; 18 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters-in-law:: Ardella Olsen of New Richland, MN, Ardis Christianson of Manly, IA, Doris Voigt of Mason City, IA, Maxine Hanson of Albert Lea, MN; two brothers-in-law: Donald (Adeline) Reese of New Richland, MN, and Martin O. (Bea) Reese of Grand Prairie, TX.



Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bernice; sister-in-law: Viola Ausen Hemingway; brother-in-law: Merle Reese, and son-in-law: Daryle Rudolph.
