Funeral services for Ramona Leah Ericksen, age 78, of Glenville will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, September 14, 2017 at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. Rev. Nancy Hansen will officiate. Interment will be at First Lutheran Cemetery in rural Glenville. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Wednesday, September 13th at Bonnerup Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ramona died Friday, September 8, 2017 suddenly from a fall at her home.
Ramona Leah Ericksen was born on September 9, 1938 to Leon and Burnette (Holstad) Sanderson in Glenville, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. Ramona attended District # 52 elementary school in Glenville and then graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Robert James Ericksen on October 20, 1956 at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. They lived in Glenville for a couple years then moved to their farm east of Glenville. Ramona worked side by side with Bob on the farm helping with fieldwork and cooking for all who came to help. After Bob died suddenly in October of 2001, Ramona moved to her present home in Glenville. She was a lifetime member of Glenville First Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aid and circle, taught Sunday school when her children were growing up and helped with youth group activities. She also served on the First Lutheran Cemetery board. Ramona worked at Floorcrafter’s in Albert Lea for a short time. She drove school bus for the Glenville-Emmons district for many years, and had recently enjoyed being involved with the Reader’s Theatre at the Glenville Elementary. She enjoyed gardening and yard work, making quilts for her grandchildren and was a wonderful cook and baker. Ramona took great pride in her home and loved decorating.

Survivors include her mother, Burnette Sanderson; children, Clark (Lori) Ericksen and Dawn (Tim) Kaasa, all of Glenville; grandchildren Brooke Ericksen, Becky (Kirk) Farmer, Jon (Sheena) Ericksen, Kellen Kaasa, Taryn (Bronson) Broer, Devin Kaasa, Luke (Holly) Marcks and Kara (Brien) Heinemann; great-grandchildren, Crosby and Harrison Broer, Payton and Brennan Farmer, Kaylee, Elli, Kyler, Preslie, and Carter Ericksen, Cherysh and Lance Marcks, and Breckyn Heinemann; sister, Pauline Kohnke; sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther Nelson, Virgil and Carol Ericksen, Ann Pavlian and Audrey and Marvyn Olson; aunts, Mildred Patterson, Idena Hagen; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ramona was preceded in death by her; husband, Robert J. Ericksen; father, Leon Sanderson; sister-in-law, Marian Hanson; brothers-in-law, Albert Hanson, Richard Nelson and Peter Pavlian; grandparents; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Glenville First Lutheran Cemetery.
