Obituary for Phyllis Margaret Wiik
The funeral service for Phyllis Margaret Wiik will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel in Albert Lea, MN. The Reverend Roger Haug will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service at the chapel.
Phyllis died on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 82 years old.
Phyllis was born in Milbank, SD on November 11, 1922, the daughter of David Robert and Louise Freda (Thiele) Lantis. She attended high school in Big Stone City, SD.
On August 7, 1941 Phyllis was united in marriage with Alf J. Wiik in Ortonville, MN. They lived in Big Stone City, SD until 1951 when they moved to Albert Lea, MN. Phyllis worked for Johnson Dry Cleaners for 30 years and did baby sitting in her home for 8 years. She enjoyed cooking, reading, being with children and most especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Center and Albert Lea Medical Center for the care given to Phyllis.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Alf D. Wiik and his wife, Joan of Mendota Heights, MN; four grandchildren: John Wiik and his wife, Lori of Cannon Falls, MN, Paul Wiik and his wife, Jennifer of S. St. Paul, MN, Joey Wiik of Mendota Heights, MN, Ann Carlson and her husband, Jacob of Aurora, CO; two great granddaughters: Claire Carlson and Helena Wiik; two brothers: David Lantis and his wife, Helen of Red Wing, MN, Dennis Lantis of Harvard, IL; one sister, Shirley Wegner of Harvard, IL; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alf in 1996; three brothers: Donald Lantis, Elton Lantis, Stanley Lantis; two brothers in infancy, Harvey and Baby; three sisters: Fern Fredrickson, Ruth Van Hout, Betty Novak
