The funeral service for Phyllis M. Bennett of Albert Lea, Minnesota will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. Pastor John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation with her family will be one hour before the service at the church. Phyllis died Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center. She was 82 years old. Phyllis was born January 13, 1922 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to William and Martha(Vangen) Bennett. She was a lifetime Albert Lea resident. Phyllis graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1940. She was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church and helped Circle #20 when needed. Phyllis worked for Wilson and Company. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and especially enjoyed her Bunco Club, knitting, playing board games, fishing and walking. Phyllis especially enjoyed being with her family when they were getting together for picnics and birthdays.
Phyllis is survived by her brother Ellsworth and his wife Dee of Albert Lea; sisters: Wilma Ditlevson and her husband John of Clarks Grove, Minnesota and Deloris Kelly of Clarks Grove, Minnesota; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Bennett of Albert Lea, Minnesota and Kathy Bennett of Albert Lea, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents William and Martha Bennett; infant sister; sister: Myrtle; brothers: Harry, Walter, Merrill; brother-in-law: Verne Kelly; sister-in-law: Mary Bennett
