Funeral services for Perry (Mike) Martinson of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Bonnerup Funeral service in Albert Lea. Pastor George Marin will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area Veterans Groups.
Perry died in Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Red Wing Health Center in Red Wing, MN. He was 64 years of age.
Perry was born December 23, 1947 in Albert Lea, MN, the son of Morin and Edna (Nassen) Martinson. He was a graduate of Albert Lea High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Viet Nam. He was united in marriage to Barbara Smith and later divorced.
Perry was a Freeborn County resident and spent the last eight years in Red Wing. He was once a member of Salem Lutheran Church and had been employed by Queen Products and Streator's. Perry was a member of the VFW, the Eagles Club and the Albert Lea Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sport shooting.
Perry is survived by his son Jeremy Martinson of Texas, Sister Harriet (Robert) Brown of Roswell, NM, Brother Cliffard (Barbara) Wood of Albert Lea, MN, and Sister Judy (Ernest) Klukow of Albert Lea, MN. Nieces and nephews include; Steven Brown, Mark Brown, Carol Hjort, Susan Hoover, Pricilla Cerney, Brad Klukow, Cindy Irish, Jackie Zimmerman, Tami Enderson and Scott (Bumper) Wood.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents.
