Funeral services for Pedro P. Zuniga of Hollandale, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at St Theodore Catholic Church. Father Eugene Stenzel and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Theodore Cemetery.
Pedro died on February 11, 2012 at the Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. He was 74 years of age.
Pedro was born October 19, 1937 in Valle Hermoso, Tamualipas Mexico the son of Aurelio and Aurora Zuniga. He attended school in Mexico. On June 17, 1961 he was united in marriage to Lidia Velazquez in Matamoros, Mexico. Together in 1975 they moved to Hollandale, MN. He worked for many years at the Hormel Company in Austin, MN.
Pedro enjoyed working and spending time in his garden.
Pedro is survived by his wife Lidia of Hollandale, MN; children, Pedro (Maria) Zuniga Jr. of Hollandale, MN, Lee (Renae) Zuniga of Albert Lea, MN, Jorge (Claudia) Zuniga of Albert Lea, MN, Roel (Rebecca) Zuniga, Arnold (Lori) Zuniga of Albert Lea, MN, Jaime Zuniga and special friend Megan Stow of Rochester, MN; siblings, Maria Wilborn of Albert Lea, MN, Elida (Guadalupe) Reyes of Albert Lea, MN, Belen Calderon of Brownsville, TX, Agapito (Celia) Zuniga of Mexico, Olga (Reymundo) Meneses of Mexico, and Carmela Zuniga of Mexico; mother and father-in-law Marcelino (Maria) Velazquez of Brownsville, TX; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; 26 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pedro is preceded in death by his parents Aurelio and Aurora, son, Aurelio Zuniga; brothers, Efrian, Concepsion, and Jose Angel; and grandson, Steven Zuniga.
