Pearl E. Klukow, age 86, of Albert Lea, Minnesota died Sunday, July 2, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. Funeral services for Pearl E. Klukow will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran Church, 15554 690th Ave, Albert Lea, MN. Reverend Daphne Hamborg will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM Friday, July 7, at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and again one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Bear Lake Cemetery.
Pearl Evangeline was born on July 22, 1930 to parents Henry and Alma (Bendickson) Reyerson in Northwood, Iowa. She graduated from Monroe High School in St. Paul and moved to Albert Lea, where she built her life. On January 18, 1953 Pearl married Norman F. Klukow at Silver Lake Lutheran Church, Northwood, IA. They loved camping, going out dancing, and having card club with their lifelong friends.
Pearl was a homemaker when her children were growing up. She was very involved in their lives and enjoyed helping them in 4H. In her early 40’s she became a cook at St. John’s Lutheran Community and remained there for nearly thirty years. Pearl was famous for her delicious cooking and baking. No one left her house still hungry!
Pearl was an active member of the ladies aid group at Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran. In her free time, she enjoyed making ceramic figurines and of course, making food! Pearl was very dedicated to her family, devoting her time to care for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Steven Klukow of Albert Lea and Randene (Michael) Murphy of Blaine, MN; grandchildren, Shauna (Brian) Reilly, Jessica (Jim) Thayer, Dustin (Samantha) Klukow, Kayla (Ryan) Chrz, Brandon (Jodi) Klukow, Madison Murphy, Austin Murphy; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Henry (Vi) Reyerson Jr., Jane (Otis) Tollefson, Bob (Patricia) Larsen; brother-in-law, Lawrence Klukow; sister-in-law, Muriel Gries; and several other relatives.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman (2010); son, Michael (2015); siblings, Laurine Reyerson Link, Curtis Reyerson, Herbert Reyerson, Judean Reyerson, Marjorie Reyerson Klukow, LeRoy Reyerson, and Dean Larsen.
