Paul J Ludtke

Paul Jeffrey Ludtke, 66, passed away on March 24, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Born on September 26, 1957, he was the son of Arthur and Donna (Ingvaldson) Ludtke.  Paul attended Clarks Grove elementary and completed his education at Albert Lea High School in 1975. Known for his love for sports, he excelled in football and continued playing for Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where he was part of the Division III National Championship-winning team. After earning a bachelor’s degree in business, Paul ventured into the world of finance, beginning his career at IDS in Minneapolis.

On July 11, 1981, he married Kathryn Webster at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The couple settled in Eden Prairie to raise their family. Later, Paul relocated to Rochester, MN.

Paul instilled a passion for sport in his children and loved supporting them and nieces and nephews in their sporting events and activities. He enjoyed spending his days playing golf, embarking on fishing trips with family at Brindley's Harbor Resort on Leech Lake, and following his favorite football and basketball teams.

Paul will be remembered by his children, Brent Ludtke, Brianna (Christian) Swanberg, and Brooke (Mike Mazzuca) Ludtke; grandsons, William Swanberg and Henry Swanberg; mother, Donna Ludtke; siblings, Craig (Brenda) Ludtke and Kristin (Gil) Irey; nieces and nephews, Mollee (Joe) Tscholl, Marcus (Jordi) Ludtke, Jamee (Derek) Bohlen, and Jake (Shannyn) Irey; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation Services in Albert Lea, MN; Pastor John Holt will officiate. Paul's family will greet guests at a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.   Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea, MN.  Friends and family are invited to Wedgewood Cove following the committal service for food and fellowship.
