Funeral services for Patricia Ann Berglund of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at St Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. Father Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4 until 7 PM at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Mrs. Berglund died Friday, December 23, 2011 at her home in Albert Lea. She was 70 years of age.
Patricia was born January 6, 1941 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Matthew and Gertrude (Chicos) Paczkowski. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and St Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. On November 13, 1963 she was united in marriage to Peter Berglund at the Catholic Basilica in Minneapolis, MN. She was a member of St Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea.
Pat was a resident of Freeborn County most of her life and had been employed by the University of Minnesota Hospital in the Pediatric Unit. She worked for a time at Austin Medical Center, and for many years as a float nurse between the East and West Clinics at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
Pat enjoyed gardening, travel, kayaking and time up north at the family cabin. Together with Pete, she made gallons of wild rice soup for the Youth For Christ Christmas Tea. She had a loving and giving spirit and was very compassionate. She loved the time spent with family and especially her grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her husband Peter of Albert Lea, MN, sons; John and his wife DeeAnn of Albert Lea, MN, and Steve of Duluth MN. Grandchildren include Joy and Peter of Albert Lea. One sister and brother survive; Ag (John) Capp of Austin, MN, and Russ Paczkowski of Albert Lea, MN. There are three sisters in law; Ruthe Paczkowski of Albert Lea, MN, Joan Paczkowski of Albert Lea, MN, Ann Paczkowski of Kasson, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St Theodore Catholic Church or the Youth For Christ.
