The funeral service for Orville Paul Slette will be 11:00 AM Monday, January 31, 2011 at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, Albert Lea, MN. Pastor Don Rose will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before service at the chapel. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Walters Cemetery, Walters, MN at a later date. Orville died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at his home in Walters, MN, at the age of 83 years old. Orville Paul Slette was born December 18, 1927 to Sidney and Minnie (Olsen) Slette in Walters, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Faith Lutheran Church and attended elementary school in Walters, MN. After graduating from Kiester High School he attended business school in Minneapolis. In 1945 he enlisted in the Army Air Force at San Antonio, TX. His jobs included painting with Uncle Harold and then working at Freeborn National and Security Banks. For 25 years he worked for Streater Store Fixtures. In 1954 he married Irene Ausen and they started farming at Walters, MN. He is survived by his wife Irene, Sandra (Orlin) Goemann and children: Dan (Katie) and Kristin, Shirley Sandt (Jeff Gilfert) and children: Adam and Desiree, daughter-in-law Kim Baker and children: Leah, Lindsey (Travis) Clark, Katlyn and Makenzie, Larry Slette, Diane Fiebelkorn (Tim) and children: Dana (Daniel) Tatge and Travis, Darell Slette, Janet VanDeer (Bill) and children: Victor and Ashley Stafne, Alex and Will VanDeer, Also 4 great grand-children Kiley, Lauren, Mason and Elijah.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents his son Loren Slette, and in-laws. Gone but not forgotten. Blessed be his memory.
