Obituary for Orville Martin Hoeg
Funeral services for Orville Martin Hoeg will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2004, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Alden, MN. The Reverend Peter Soli will officiate. Burial will be in Alden Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-7 PM Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service at the church. Military honors will be accorded by the Alden American Legion/Freeborn County Veterans? Organizations.
Orville died on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 84 years old.
Born in Alden, MN on February 16, 1920, Orville was the son of Martin and Clara (Skov) Hoeg. He was a 1939 graduate of Alden High School. During WWII he served with the US Army from 1942-45 in the European Theater.
On February 20, 1942, Orville was united in marriage with Virginia Schaudt. They farmed near Alden until his retirement in 1976. In 1994 they moved to Albert Lea. They wintered in Mission, Texas for 25 years.
Orville was an active member of the Alden American Legion. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing pool (he had won trophies), watching the Twins and Vikings games, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Albert Lea; son, Robert (Muriel) Hoeg of Albert Lea; daughter, Sue (George) Corsilia of Stamford, CT; four grandchildren: Sarah Corsilia of New Canaan, CT, Andrew (Karen) Corsilia of Ridgefield, CT, Mark and Scott Hoeg of Albert Lea; two great grandchildren: Jacob and Justine Corsilia of Ridgefield, CT; one sister, Ivo Reindal of San Clemente, CA; one sister-in-law, Violet Hoeg of Wells, MN; nieces and nephews.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter at birth; a brother, Donald Hoeg and a sister, Norma Rebelein.
