Orliss Diaz

The Funeral Service for Orliss Diaz of Albert Lea , will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 15, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church , Albert Lea. The Reverend Lyndy West and The Reverend Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery . Visitation will be from 4-7 Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea , and one hour before the service at the church.



Orliss was born on January 25, 1934, in Oakland , Minnesota the daughter of Oscar M. and Mabel A.(Berg) Peterson. Orliss was united in marriage to Frank Diaz on May 31, 1952. They made their home and raised their family in Albert Lea. In addition to being a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Orliss was very involved at Grace Lutheran Church . She had served as Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, was on the Wedding Committee, the Altar Guild, and was a very willing volunteer for all church functions.



Orliss died on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at ThorneCrest Retirement Center, Health Care Wing. She was 74.



She is survived by children: Richard Diaz of Albert Lea, Kathy Diaz of Nashville, TN, Jeffrey Diaz and his wife Stefanie of Galveston, Indiana, grandchildren Amanda Bjorklund and her husband Aaron of Alden, Josh Diaz of Albert Lea, Brandon Diaz and Logan Diaz both of Galveston , Indiana, a brother Dwane Peterson and his wife Mary of Citrus Springs, Florida and many nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, sons David LeRoy Diaz and Kevin Matthew Diaz and a sister Karen Quam.



In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
