Norma Ingvaldson

Funeral services for Norma Lorraine Ingvaldson of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, February 28, 2014 at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor John Holt will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Mrs. Ingvaldson died Friday morning, February 21, 2014 at Oak Park Place in Albert Lea. She was 83 years of age. Norma was born August 20, 1930 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Manfred and Stella (Pedersen) Hansen. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1948. On October 16, 1949 she was united in marriage to Elwood C. Ingvaldson at the North Freeborn Lutheran Church. Norma grew up in the Clarks Grove area and spent most of her life in Albert Lea where she worked for Anderson Fashions as a bookkeeper then with Freeborn County in court services for 14 years retiring in 1994. Norma then helped seniors with filing tax returns and helped her husband for many years as bookkeeper for Ingvaldson Bus Service. Norma was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Elks Club. She was a very active member of First Lutheran Church with craft group, circle, caring and sharing and holidays ahead. She taught Sunday School and played piano for Sunday School events. In her free time she loved quilting, sewing, crafts, rosemaling and any kind of needlework. She played bridge, loved to cook, singing, and music and was an excellent piano player. Following her granddaughter's life and sports gave her great joy. Norma always had a smile for everyone along with her quiet sense of humor.
Norma is survived by her children Diane Ingvaldson of Rochester, MN, David Ingvaldson of Maple Grove, MN and Debra (Steven) Elhardt of Maple Grove, MN. There is one granddaughter Lauren Elhardt of Fargo, ND, one brother Phillip (Verdelle) Hansen of Clarks Grove, MN, sisters-in-law: Donna (Art) Ludtke of Albert Lea, MN, Jennelly (Robert) Groe of Edina, MN, Karen (Tom) Hovde of Burnsville, MN, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elwood in 1995 and brother and sister in law Herman and Irene Myre. The family would like to give special thanks to the loving and caring nurses and staff at Oak Park Place.
