Norena Rose Love

Norena Love, 100, of Albert Lea, peacefully passed away on October 20, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Community, with her loving family by her side.

Born on November 21, 1923, in Bayport, MN, Norena was a beloved daughter of Conrad and Lizzie Casperson. On September 3, 1943, Norena married the love of her life, Alfred Love, in Chicago, IL. Together the couple shared more than 70 years and raised two children. As a devoted wife and mother, she cherished her family above all else. 

A woman of few words, Norena was known for her quiet and reserved demeanor. However, those closest to her knew of her excellent memory and her ability to recount tales with great detail. She would often gather with for neighborhood coffee parties, where laughter and shared memories filled the room.

Norena found joy in the simple things in life, such as reading romance novels and indulging in the works of Danielle Steel. Her generosity and helpful nature endeared her to many, always there to lend a hand or a listening ear. She took pleasure in visiting her siblings, reminiscing about the past, and sharing stories of her adventures from her younger years.

Norena is survived by her son, James (Treasa) Love, of Albert Lea, MN; daughter, Kay (David) Paulson, of Albert Lea, MN; grandchildren Tammy Paulson, Kimberly Barney, Jared (Paula) Paulson, Norena (Travis) Brekke and Michelle Love; and great-grandchildren, Charley and Pacey Brekke, Brooke and Tenley Tufte, Conner and Tyler Barney, Mayzie, Ryker and Bryxlie Paulson, Samuel and Sophia Paulson.

In addition to her parents, Conrad and Lizzie Casperson, Norena was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Love; and seven siblings, Elmer, Laura, Ivan, Jen, Ines, Raymond, and Myron.

Services for Norena will be held privately.
