She was born on August 24, 1946, in Austin, Minnesota the daughter of Arnold and Margaret "Peggy" (Fink) Stuhr. She graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin, MN. On October 10, 1964, she married her soul mate, Tom Laite. They lived in Austin for a time and she did some babysitting. They moved to Albert Lea and thru the years she had worked at a nursing home and a music store.

She sold her share of the abstract business and worked for the Assessor's office at the Freeborn County Courthouse. Due to her failing health she retired from the Assessor's office in 2010, a job she much enjoyed.
Nancy had many interests, she loved going fishing with the family, collecting ornaments and things, playing cards and traveling, especially the annual scenic drive to Wisconsin to get apples. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with family, watching Tara play soccer and Ryan play hockey brought her much joy. Nancy will be deeply missed by her family, husband Tom, daughter Christi Chirpich (Jamie Boerner) of Albert Lea, grandchildren, Tara Chirpich of Rosemount, MN, and Ryan Chirpich of Albert Lea; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Vernon (Judy) Laite Jr, Gary Laite, and Patricia Bergland (Ron Miranda) all of Albert Lea, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Peggy Stuhr and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Vernon and Twyla Laite.
