Remembering the life of Mildred Jensen..
The Funeral Service for Mildred "Milly" Jensen of 102 N. Shore, Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, June 29, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Albert Lea. The Reverend Jamie Cameron will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood
Cemetery, Albert Lea. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Milly died on Monday, June 27, 2005 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 87.
She was born on July 24, 1917, in Denmark, the daughter of Iner and Marie (Larson) Jensen.
She spent her early years in Denmark and then her family settled here where she
graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1937.
Following graduation she enjoyed working in retail sales in the clothing area,
working for Buttrey's in Austin and then Mier Wolff in Albert Lea for several years. She also sold door to door for Minnesota Woolens.
On February 21, 1971, she married Eugene Hanf, he preceded her in death in 1998.
She later married Wesley Jensen at the First Baptist Church in Albert Lea, where they were both members. Milly enjoyed singing in the church choir.
Milly had a great passion for buying, accumulating and also selling antiques
especially glass and dinnerware.
Throughout her life she was blessed with opportunities to visit Denmark several times, winter in Arizona, see Mexico, summer in Canada, as well as many other travels.
She loved water and Fountain Lake and found much joy in gardening, and bird
watching. She appreciated the companionship of her pet friend Yenta.
Along life's way she also came to enjoy knitting, crocheting and shopping.
She is survived by her husband Wesley of Albert Lea, brothers Oscar Jensen and his wife Berneice and Howard Jensen and his wife Violet "Babe" and sister-in-law
Alta Jensen all of Albert Lea; two step-daughters Sue Roberts and Angela Hanf both of Austin, step-daughter-in-law Carol Hanf of Austin, and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene Hanf and two brothers Egon and Alvin.
Milly will be greatly missed, her thoughtful nature and flair for life will long be remembered.
