Funeral services for Mildred E. Bergdale of Ellendale, MN, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 27, 2010 at the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale, MN. Pastor Arne Halbakken will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4 until 6 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Ellendale, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery, Ellendale.
Mildred died Tuesday evening, December 21, 2010 at St Johns Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, MN. She was 90 years of age.
Mildred was born October 21, 1920 in Freeborn County the daughter of Lionel and Alvilda (Petersen) Andersen. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School. On August 3, 1941 she was united in marriage to Gustave Bergdale in rural Ellendale. Mildred resided most of her life in Ellendale and was an active member of the First Lutheran Church and a member of the church womena�(TM)s group.
Mildred had been employed by the Wilson Company in Albert Lea but also enjoyed working at the Bergdale Harley Davidson Store in Albert Lea. She loved to watch the birds, sew and bake, and spend time with the grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her children; Duane (Marlene) Bergdale of Albert Lea, MN, Garlyn (Rosie) Bergdale of Tempe, AZ, Vincent (Teresa) Bergdale of Albert Lea, MN, and Winfred (Jilleen) Bergdale of Ellendale, MN. Grandchildren include; Katie, Nikki, Ellie, Michael and Trisha Bergdale and great granddaughter; Chloe. Two sisters survive; Hazel Callahan-Doyle and Mary Landaas both of Albert Lea, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gustave in 1998, sister Olive and brothers, Marion and Ingvart.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the Crossroads Community Hospice.
