Michael Thostenson

A celebration of life for Michael D. Thostenson will be held on Friday, May 11, from 4-7 PM at the Edgewater Park Pavilion in Albert Lea. Father Robert Schneider will share special memories. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area Veterans Groups.
Michael was born on November 26, 1973 to Ralph and Louanna (Jamtgaard) Thostenson. He attended Albert Lea High School before enrolling in Riverland Community College. In 1992 he enlisted in the US Marines, serving for 4 years.
Michael owned Prowess Networks in Albert Lea, as well as worked with the City of Owatonna. He was an Apple developer, was Microsoft Certified, and loved working on computers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motocross riding, scuba diving, and had a strong connection with nature. He was a willing and caring spirit who loved his dogs, Sebastian and Scooby.
Michael is preceded in death by his grandfathers; Silas Jamtgaard, and Willie Thostenson; and Kent's mother, Jan Jensen.
He is survived by his parents, Louanna Lahner of Mason City, IA and Ralph (Diane) Thostenson of Albert Lea; sisters, Lori (fiancée Andrew Althof) Schroht of Hanlontown, IA, and Shelly (Wayne) Cichanski of Rochester; brother Kent Thostenson of Albert Lea; grandmothers, Elsie Thostenson of Albert Lea, and Amy Jamtgaard of Clear Lake, IA; special friend, Angela Hansen, and her children, Danielle and Justin of Albert Lea; nephews, Derek Schroht, and Hunter Althof; nieces; Kaylie Nelson, Emily Cichanski, Erin Cichanski, Elizabeth Althof, and Emily Althof; and many other special friends.
He will be forever in our hearts!
