The Funeral service for Maxine Ardis Wangen of Albert Lea, Minnesota will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Reverend Dennis Frank w ill officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Albert Lea and one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to Hillcrest Cemetery.
Maxine died Friday, May 13, 2011 at her home. She was 87 years old.
Maxine was born March 13, 1924 in Armstrong, Iowa to Herbert John and Hazel Edith (Worcester) Seifert. She grew up at Ledyard, Iowa and attended Ledyard Consolidated High School. Maxine was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. She married Harold Chester Wangen on December 14, 1957 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Maxine worked for Woolens Trouser Factory, Munsingwear, King Sealy, Streaters and Modern Art Studio. She enjoyed sewing, reading, watching television, fishing and spending time at the cabin at Walker, MN. Maxine was a devoted wife and took care of her husband Harold until his death from Parkinsons.
Maxine is survived by her nieces and nephews; sister-in-law: Laura Seifert.
