Maxine Gavle

October 12, 1932 — February 27, 2017

Funeral services for Maxine Gavle of Albert Lea, MN will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Lunder Lutheran Church rural Albert Lea, MN. Pastor Randy Baldwin will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lunder Lutheran Cemetery.
Maxine died Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home. She was 84 years of age.
Maxine was born October 12, 1932 in Nunda Township the daughter of Ole and Sena (Kolstad) Thompson. She graduated from Emmons High School and on August 16, 1952 was united in marriage to Harry Gavle in Glenville, MN.
Maxine was an active member of the Lunder Lutheran Church and had been employed by Security Bank and for over 30 years at Twin Lakes State Bank as a loan officer. After retirement she worked for many years for SEMCAC and was a volunteer at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
She loved to spend time with family, especially the grandchildren, making trips to the Casino and traveling with her husband. She enjoyed music, theatre and watching the birds. Maxine was an avid Minnesota Viking and Twins fan!
She is survived by her children Douglas (Pat) Gavle of Twin Lakes, MN, Denise Thompson of Mankato, MN, and Craig (Patty Schumacher) Gavle of Glenville, MN. Grandchildren include Sarah (Bart) Berven, Lisa (Kevin) George, Nicole (Jon) Krueger, Erik (Meg Neuville) Thompson, Kayla Thompson, Jared Gavle and Jasmine Gavle, seven great grandchildren; Hannah, Ashlyn Berven, Laine Jo, Colt George, Isaiah, Jazzmaine and Madelyn Krueger. There are two sisters in law; Marilyn Perkins of Denver, CO, Edith Thompson of Emmons, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, brothers Clifford and Duane Thompson and sisters Alice Bidne and Norma Vermedahl.
