Funeral services for Maxine Boeck, 91, of Albert Lea will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, 2210 E. Main, Albert Lea. The Reverend Greg Ofsdahl will officiate. Interment will be at Alden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, November 30 at Bonnerup Funeral Service and half an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Maxine died on November 23, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Home where she had suffered with Alzheimer’s disease the past three years.
Maxine Minnie was born on January 28, 1926 to Theodore and Minnie (Siedlitz) Niebuhr in Wells, Minnesota. Maxine was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells and grew up on the family farm south of Wells. Maxine “Mickey” attended school in Wells and graduated in 1944.
On June 26, 1944, Maxine was united in marriage to Bryan Boeck. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden, where she was active in altar guild and women’s Bible study. She enjoyed gardening, baking, dancing at the Golden Bubble, playing cards, fishing, and doing crossword puzzles. Most of all Maxine enjoyed time spent at their cabin in Nevis, MN in the summer, winter trips to Florida, walking on the beaches and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Bryan; children, David (Lynne) Boeck, Marilyn (Mike) DeBonny, Debbie (Tony) Politz; grandchildren, Ashley Politz, Jeremy (Brenda) Boeck; Angie (Brad) Schmidt; 5 great-grandchildren: Hayden, Hudson, Shawnee, Dillon, Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Leora Rathai; brothers, Rueben and Eldo Niebuhr; and several brothers and sisters in-law. May she rest in peace.
