Memorial services for Mary Jane Margaret Cady of Hayward, MN, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St Theodore Catholic Church of Albert Lea, MN. Father Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2012 from 4 until 6 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Theodore Catholic Cemetery. Mary Jane died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea. She was 78 years of age.
Mary Jane was born May 13, 1933 in Cogswell, ND, the daughter of Jake and Mary (Flesch) Seelhammer. She graduated from high school in Cogswell, ND and the North Dakota State School of Science. On November 15, 1952 she was united in marriage to John Cady in Cogswell, ND. Mary Jane had lived in Cogswell, ND, Hayward, MN, from 1964 until 1992, Alexandria, MN, and moved to Albert Lea in 2010. She had been the Postmaster in Hayward, MN, and Herman, MN. Mary Jane was also the City Clerk in Hayward. She was a member of St Theodore Catholic Church and was active in CCW, funeral meals and as the chair for the annual antique show. In her free time she enjoyed being a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader, playing board games, sewing and puzzles. One of her greatest joys was time spent with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren at various gatherings.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband John Cady of Albert Lea, MN, children; Kathy (Roger Hoffman) Cady of Virginia, MN, Mike (Kaye) Cady of Cave Creek, AZ, Bob Cady of Northfield, MN, Jim (Nancy Carpenter) Cady of Albert Lea, MN, Dave Cady of Mission Viejo, CA, Mary (Steve McCauley) Cady of Minneapolis, MN, Judy (Mark Kness) Cady of Albert Lea, MN. Grandchildren include; Laura Hoffman, Meghan (Dan) Balfe, Sara (Brad Carlson) Hoffman, Kelsey Paulson, John McCauley and Eva McCauley. Great grandchildren include; Mady Balfe, Jenna Balfe, Tyler Balfe and Ayden Paulson. One brother and one sister survive; Jack (Betty) Seelhammer of St Cloud, MN, and Darlene Howbert of Denver, CO.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Wayne and Ralph Seelhammer.
