Marvin Schnebly

October 9, 1938 — September 1, 2015

Funeral services for Marvin L. Schnebly will be held at 4 PM on Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Father Russell Scepaniak will officiate.
Marvin passed away unexpectedly at his home in Albert Lea on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. He was 76 years old.
Marvin "Marv" Schnebly was born on October 9, 1938 to Virgil and Alta (Miller) Schnebly in Albert Lea, MN. He attended and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1956. He enlisted in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1961. He returned to the area and started a career as a farmer. On September 20, 1969, he was united in marriage to Cecelia (Gall) in Owatonna, MN. To this union, three children were born. Marv and Cecelia made their home in rural Geneva.
Marvin worked as a farmer in his younger years, and later took a job at the Watonwan Farm Services, in Clarks Grove, where he retired in 2010. Marv was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Newry Township. He also served as the Treasurer for the Geneva Township, as well as the Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Blooming Prairie. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, playing cards, fixing machinery, and took up golf later in life. He was a genuine, caring, and kind-hearted man. Marv has a contagious sense of humor, always making jokes, and finding the good in every situation. Marv was laid back, always stating "Everything is under control," even if nobody else thought so.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
Marv is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cecelia, of Albert Lea; children, Jason (Kelly Kuenzie) Schnebly, of Madison, WI, Alan (Tanya Tiffany) Schnebly, of Milwaukee, WI, and Julie (Nate Keeley) Schnebly, of Madison, WI; a grandchild, Sanne Tiffany-Schnebly; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Dale (Teri) Schnebly.
