Funeral Services for Marvel D. Fair, of St. Paul, formerly of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 P.M. on
Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Reverend James Kassera will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Marvel died on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Summit Hill Senior Living in St. Paul, MN, where she had been living the past several months to be near family. She was born on January 7, 1932, in Freeborn County, the daughter of Benjamin and Lela (Jackson) Thompson. She married Roy D. Fair, on January 21, 1949, at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Marvel cooked for School District #241 for 33 years before retiring. She was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she had been involved with Ladies Aide for more than 40 years, and also enjoyed quilting. She loved to dance and listen to old time music. Marvel's life was focused on faith and family. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, sisters, and extended family. She will be greatly missed by her children: Steve (Carol) Fair of Woodbury, Minnesota, Sandra Weidt (Tom Bauerkemper) of Newport, MN, Wesley (Gail) Fair of Winona, MN; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy Beighley and Harriet Heckes, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1984, her parents, and her sister Lorraine Trae. Blessed be her memory!
