Remembering the life of Mark Eugene Stevens....

The Memorial Service for Mark Eugene Stevens, 49, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Reverend John M. Henriksen will officiate. Friends may visit with family from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour

before the service at the church.

Mark died on Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester surrounded by the love of his family.

Mark Eugene was born on March 20, 1958, in Albert Lea the son of Herschel and Ruth (Hillman) Stevens. He was a 1976 graduate of Albert Lea High School.

He attended Albert Lea Technical College/Riverland to get his certification as an auto technician. He worked at Ken?s Service in Albert Lea for several years.

Mark married Kimberly Qualey on October 27, 1979, in Albert Lea.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Moose Club. Mark had coached Little League Baseball. He enjoyed fishing, stock car racing with son Luke and go-carting with grandson Isaiah.

He believed life was about spending time with family and so enjoyed being together, playing cards, games, and will be remembered for his occasional prank (or two).

He will be lovingly missed by his wife Kim; three children: Erica (Chad) Samp of Albert Lea, Lorelei Apland and her son Isaiah of Albert Lea, Luke Stevens of

Mankato; brothers: Daryl (Claran) Stevens of Albert Lea, Craig (Sandy) Stevens of Albert Lea, sisters: Carol (Aaron) Kuennen of Albert Lea, and Linda Cook

of Albert Lea, mother-in-law Lorraine Qualey of Albert Lea and sisters-in-law Marlene (Dave) Wronski of Vadnais Heights, MN and Dawn (Greg) Dahl of Eagan, MN and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Jessica.

Mark will be fondly remembered as one who always put others needs above his own. He was a courageous "fighter" and had the will to overcome many obstacles so he could be there for his family.
